What we’ve been up to: telling stories, selling ideas

Today, 25 Broom & Moon friends, both old and new, joined us for a webinar on how to use stories to sell anything — from a product to a big idea. 

Titled Ditch the Jargon and Tell me a Story, this lively lunchtime workshop covered:

  • Why tell stories in business

  • What makes a good story

  • Where to find great stories 

  • How to use storytelling strategies to sell anything

The participants left the one-hour session armed with practical strategies for bringing ideas to life through the power of storytelling. The three main main lessons were:

  1. Make something happen: show a change to the status quo.

  2. Eliminate abstraction: stimulate your audience’s senses.

  3. Think like a journalist: find the human interest.

Attendees ranged from corporate lawyers, voice coaches and CEOs to internal comms and marketing pros. And they dialled in from places far and wide, including Sydney, South Africa, India, Germany, Boston, Zurich and, of course, our home towns of London and Hove.
